Challenge

A product developer of high-tech IoT equipment supported a client manufacturing the Neospectra scanner, a device requiring compliance across multiple key markets: Europe, the United States, China, and Brazil. During the development stage, the device faced a critical barrier: excessive spurious emissions were detected, which immediately blocked the regulatory approval process. Without resolution, the scanner would not be eligible for certification in its target markets, jeopardizing time-to-market and customer commitments.

Outcome

Through close cooperation between the product developer, the manufacturer, and IoT Consulting Partners, a solution was quickly identified. By addressing the emissions issues early and aligning with the relevant international standards, the scanner achieved: Full compliance with European, US, Chinese, and Brazilian regulatory requirements. Timely certification, preventing costly delays in product launch. Confidence in global market readiness, enabling the manufacturer to move forward with sales and distribution plans. This project highlights how early detection of compliance issues, combined with expert guidance, can transform potential roadblocks into successful global approvals — ensuring innovative IoT products like the Neospectra scanner reach international markets smoothly.

Essential requirements under the RED (2014/53/EU) and the standards that ensure compliance:

Note: For conformity assessment under the RED (2014/53/EU) and related directives, the *latest versions of harmonized standards* as published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) shall always be applied.
